‘And Then They Came for Us’ Documentary Available for Community Screenings

In view of the Supreme Court’s decision in Trump v. Hawaii, the award-winning documentary, And Then They Came for Us, linking the incarceration of Japanese Americans during WWII to the Muslim travel ban has unfortunately become more relevant than ever.

While the conservative majority explicitly overruled Korematsu, according to Justice Sonia Sotomayor ,“the Court deploys the same dangerous logic underlying Korematsu and merely replaces ‘one gravely wrong’ decision with another.” The film can be used to educate audiences about the importance of speaking out against the travel ban and its unconstitutional impact on American democracy.
